Morning sunshine gave way to considerable cloudiness Friday afternoon thanks to a weak trough of low pressure that was headed our way from Canada. The trough is going to push through our region tonight and move off the Maine coast Saturday morning. Once it goes by drier air will move in providing us with a mostly day on Saturday with temperatures a few degrees cooler than they were on Friday. A small ridge of high pressure is expected to move over us Saturday night and then move off to the east during the day on Sunday. There shouldn't be a cloud in the sky Sunday morning and with temperatures in the 20s the day will get off to a chilly start. High thin cloudiness should arrive in the afternoon as the wind shifts into the south keeping temperatures in the mid 40s along the Maine coast. Farther west low to mid 50s will be the rule. Rain is likely Sunday night with a couple of inches of snow possible in the mountains. By Monday morning most of the precipitation should be over with the clouds breaking for some sunshine. A cold front will arrive later in the day kicking off a few showers and also ushering much colder weather for Tuesday and Wednesday.
