The intense area of low pressure that created those nasty northwesterly winds today will give way to a ridge of high pressure tonight allowing the winds to diminish to under 10 mph. The high won't be here very long and as it moves off to the east on Tuesday look for increasing cloudiness along with a southerly wind that promises to send temperatures well above freezing. A cold front will then approach from the west Tuesday night with a weak area of low pressure forming on it as moves through. This most likely will result in a mixed bag of precipitation with southern counties receiving mostly rain while the mountains and foothills pick up about 3-5 inches of snow or sleet. The system is expected to move off to the east on Wednesday allowing for partial clearing with quiet weather on tap for the rest of the work week. Another storm may be in the works for the weekend.
