An area of low pressure is going to pass well out to sea tonight putting some clouds in the sky with all the precipitation staying to our south. As the low moves off to the east on Thursday a small ridge of high pressure is expected to move our way bringing us a mostly sunny Valentines Day. Don't you just love it? Temperatures will once again approach 40 degrees making for another mild day. An approaching cold front will bring increasing cloudiness to the sky on Friday. Despite this it should still turn out to be quite mild thanks to a stiff southerly wind. The front will move through on Saturday possibly kicking off a few rain or snow showers with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s. The models had hinted at an area of low pressure forming on the front to our south on Saturday and this would have resulted in more snowfall for our region. They have since backed off on this idea and now the low is expected to develop well out to sea and intensify over the maritimes. This will set up a strong northerly wind for us on Sunday bringing much colder air back to New England.
