January went out on a very warm note with temperatures reaching the 50s on the 31st. The month as a whole averaged out about three degrees above normal despite a very cold stretch from the 21st through the 28th. It appears that February is going to get off to a rather chilly start with below normal temperatures pretty much the rule for at least the first week. A weak area of low pressure is going to bring us increasing afternoon clouds on Saturday and possibly some light snow to the mountains. Another low is expected to graze us with some light snow late Sunday into Sunday night. Monday and Tuesday are looking quiet with temperatures remaining well below freezing.
