A slow moving cold front is headed our way and promises to bring some nasty weather over the next 24 hours. Heavy rainfall is showing up on radar out ahead of the front and this is expected to arrive here late tonight and stick around into Thursday morning. In addition we will also have to deal with strong southerly winds that could gust up to 60 mph. Winds this strong can bring down tree limbs and power lines. The front should be off the Maine coast by noon on Thursday bringing an end to the rainfall but the wind is going to stick around all day blowing from the southwest and gusting to over 50 mph. Temperatures will be quite mild early in the day and then start to fall in the afternoon as colder air moves in. A second cold front will move through Thursday night reinforcing the cold air and setting up an extended period of below normal weather that most likely will continue into next week. Some light snow is still possible on Sunday.
