A cold front moved through our region in the wee hours of the morning on Monday and despite mostly sunny skies temperatures did not rise much during the day as cold air came pouring in. A ridge of high pressure is going to take control of our weather over the next several days and as it builds in tonight the combination of clear skies and light winds will make for some cold temperatures. Then as the high moves east a southwest flow on the backside of the system promises to transport warmer air our way for Tuesday. This warming trend is expected to continue for the rest of the work week with no significant precipitation until Friday when a warm front moves our way. We could see a mix of snow, sleet or rain at the outset depending on when the precipitation arrives. Ultimately it will become too warm for anything but rain or drizzle and all of this is expected to move out of here Friday night leaving us with some very mild weather for the upcoming weekend.
