We are headed into a stretch of quiet weather this holiday weekend with a gradual warming trend. By Monday temperatures will be way above normal.

The storm responsible for the snow and rain on Thursday moved off to the east today with sunshine returning to northern New England. In the wake of the storm there is hardly any precipitation showing up across the eastern half of the country and this bodes well for a quiet weekend. A cold front is going to push through our region tonight but with very little in the way of moisture so outside of a few clouds you'll hardly notice it. Behind the front a ridge of high pressure will bring us another sunny day on Saturday. Temperatures should be pretty close to what we had today but I don't expect the wind to be as strong. An approaching warm front promises to put more clouds in the sky Saturday night and I think those clouds will stick around for most of the day on Sunday. Despite this temperatures should climb into the low 50s. By Monday the front is expected to be north of us setting the stage for a sunny and very mild day with temperatures topping 60 degrees at most locations. Showers are likely on Tuesday as a cold front works its way through our region.
