The cold weather regime that began Monday continued today as once again temperatures remained in the 30s and with a stiff northerly wind it felt more like January than November. Now with this cold air in place an area of low pressure is headed our way bringing a surge of moisture that will fall as snow or sleet tonight into Thursday morning. Some of this should melt on contact with the ground but we could still wind up with 1-3 inches for the morning commute. The mixed precipitation is expected to gradually change to rain on Thursday as warmer air moves into our region and this will wind down Thursday night. By Friday morning the low is going to be east of Nova Scotia so we can look forward to more sunshine on Friday and warmer temperatures. Fair weather is also on tap for Saturday with a warm front bringing increasing cloudiness during the afternoon. The computer models are moving this front through our region on Sunday and if this verifies some very mild weather will be with us for Sunday as well as the first part of next week.
