Maineiacs fire head coach, assistant coach

LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Lewiston Maineiacs hockey team issued a statement Thursday night saying President and Head Coach Don MacAdam and Assistant Coach Jamie Dumont were relieved of their duties effective immediately.

MacAdam and Dumont are being replaced by Jeff Guay, who was named Interim Head Coach. Maineiacs scout Tim Schurman was named Assistant Coach and Jim Cain has joined the club as Executive Vice President of Club Operations.

The Lewiston Maineiacs are Maine's franchise of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

This season, the Maineiacs are in 17th place in the QMJHL. Their record is 10-20-0-1. 

Guay worked for the Maineiacs for the club's first six seasons in Maine. Schurman is also a scout for the New York Islanders. Cain is the owner of the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, home of the Maineiacs.
