Bangor Police looking for suspect in stolen vehicle crash

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Bangor Police received a report of a stolen vehicle Thursday, and shortly after responded to an accident involving the same vehicle.

The 2006 black Pontiac GTO was stolen from Holiday Inn on the Odlin Road. The hit and run crash was on I395 eastbound near the Farm Road exit.

Witnesses said the stolen vehicle was traveling at high speeds when it hit another car near the Farm Road exit. The suspect exited the stolen vehicle, flagged down a passing car, and jumped into their passenger seat. Witnesses described this car as a dark colored (possibly grey) sedan. The "getaway" vehicle exited I395 at Farm Road, but the direction of travel is unknown. Witnesses describe the suspect as a male with a tall thin build, wearing a red or "orange-ish" puffy jacket.

Bangor Fire Department transported the driver of the vehicle that the stolen vehicle hit to a local hospital with injuries. The stolen vehicle was damaged extensively.
