PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- For many, coffee is more than morning fuel, but an important part of their routine. Coffee By Design will now show sippers what happens before it hits their lips.
The Portland based company is getting ready to open it's fifth shop that will offer customers a behind the scenes look of what goes into their cup of joe. The new new facility will feature a blend bar, allowing customers to create their own custom coffee blends; a training room to educate both staff and interested customers on different brewing methods; and roastery tours that give visitors a firsthand look at the roasting process from start to finish.
"It becomes interactive the moment they walk in. Not just interactive with the roasting operation, but interactive with the retail operation," said owner and founder Alan Spear.
Coffee By Design held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its fifth coffeehouse on March 3. The new coffeehouse is located on Diamon Street in Portland.
