FORESTHILL, California (KCRA) -- A teenager in California is recovering after falling nearly 250 feet down a steep ravine Tuesday.
Tyler Grandy suffered a head injury and cuts to his legs when he fell. Both of his injuries are considered to be moderate. He is expected to survive.
A Foresthill firefighter was lowered down the hillside and connected Grandy to a rescue harness before he was able to be lifted up. The teen was alert as he was airlifted out of the Foresthill canyon.
"I'm grateful that he's resilient and bounces like a ball," said Mary Grandy, Tyler's mother.
