BREWER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A teen from Brewer is okay after flipping her car over, landing upside down in a brook off Eastern Avenue Thursday morning.
Police said 18-year-old, Mackenzie McCurdy hit a slushy patch on the road, pulling her toward the guardrail before she went over it. This senior at Brewer High School landed on a partly frozen river. Police had to cut the teen from the vehicle.
Authorities say she was shacken up, but walked away injury-free.
"Fortunately, this accident was witnessed. Had it not been witnessed, she may have not been found for awhile. Simply because you can't see from the road down to where she was," said Sergeant Jay Munson.
