PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- To sum it all up, heavy snow, rain and wind is expected to move in Thursday.

Unlike the past couple of storms, this one is going to take its time. And so the public service crews are hoping to get city streets and sidewalks cleaned up in time for Valentine's Day.

Mike Bobinsky of Portland Public Services says he's expecting a parking ban "which would be Thursday into Friday... Possibly into Saturday depending on the conditions. We use good judgement about that. We know that it's a weekend coming up and Valentine's Day and we want to be sensitive to that."

Residents with Friday trash pickup are asked to delay putting out their garbage until Friday morning, unlike the usual night before.

"We would prefer that they don't set it out Thursday into Friday. Wait until Friday morning and typically our plows have gone through at least one time in the residents. We just don't want those bags to be burried and lost."

Makes sense to me!

There's a growing list schools with an early dismissal tomorrow. See here: http://www.wcsh6.com/weather/severe_weather/cancellations_closings/default.aspx
