SACO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Friends and family of Ashley Ouellette are marking 15 years since the teen was found murdered in Scarborough.

Oullette was 15 years old when a passer-by found her body on Pine Point Road. And both police and her family believe there are people out there that know what happened.

At a vigil in Ashley's memory at Thornton Academy in Saco, her friend, Angie Presby, called for those people to come forward and tell State Police what happened.

Presby said, "It just gets frustrating that somebody doesn't want to do the right thing. It's hard for us, because we're good people, for us to understand why somebody would want to keep that."

Ashley was a student at the school, and the vigil was held by the memorial bench in her name. About 30 people attended.

Presby, and Ashley's mother, Lisa Ouellette, say they are sure that this case will be solved someday.

Lisa Ouellette said, "There is no doubt that people know what happened. This wasn't just one person. So people know. So the more you put it out there... that again goes to your hope."

If you have any information about this case, you are asked to call Maine State Police.
