BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Bangor City Hall may have been closed for the holiday, but dozens of people crowded the steps this Monday morning.
Geoff Gratwick announced earlier that he will be running for re-election for Maine State Senate District 9.
Last year's senate race between Gratwick and Nichi Farnham had the most outside spending than any other senate race in Maine in 2012, a combined $450,000.
This year, Gratwick's opponent is former colleague Cary Weston. Gratwick says he wasn't a fan of the nastiness that occurred in last year's election but says this year could be an interesting election as well.
