PARK CITY, Utah (NEWS CENTER)-- After reports that he was injured and would not compete in tonight's final Olympic halfpipe qualifier, Simon Dumont put on his skis for one last try at his Sochi dreams.
Dumont reportedly competed tonight on a torn ACL in his left knee, which happened during Friday night's practice. Despite the injury, Dumont pulled a 72.20 on his first run and a decided to forego his second run.
His score was not high enough to put him in the top three, which is the placement needed to automatically qualify for the Olympics. Dumont still has a chance at the team if he is a discretionary pick by the US coaches, but that seems unlikely to happen due to his injury.
