BRUNSWICK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A museum in Brunswick is assessing damage after the recent cold snap caused water pipes to burst.
The Joshua Chamberlain Museum is located in the house where the famous Civil War hero lived most of his life. When the executive director went to check on the museum last weekend she saw water pouring from the ceiling into the historic home.
The water damaged the parlor and the dining room. Ceilings in both rooms had to be taken down as well as some of the walls. Some furniture original to the home was also damaged.
