AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police are calling the death of a woman found inside an apartment a homicide.

Investigators say the body of 24-year-old Jillian Jones was found Wednesday night an apartment at 32 Crosby Street. An autopsy conducted by the state medical examiner's office show that Jones died of stab wounds.

Police say they found Justin Pillsbury, 38, in the apartment, too. He was taken to MaineGenral Medical Center with stab wounds investigators say appear to be self-inflicted.

Police believe the Pillsbury and Jones were the only two people involved in the incident. Investigators say they hope to interview Pillsbury in the next day or so, when his condition improves.

No one has been charged.

Justin Pillsbury's best friend tells NEWS CENTER that Pillsbury suffered from PTSD. The friend said Pillsbury "loved Jones more than anything."

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says Jones and Pillsbury recently moved into the apartment on Crosby Street. Jones was from Bingham. She was studying to become a beautician. Pillsbury has lived in Augusta for the last few years. He is employed as a flagger at road construction sites.
