JEFFERSON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- When a soldier returns home from war, the physical and emotional scars can leave him or her feeling disconnected from life before service.

A Maine-based program is showing veterans just how much they are capable of. About twenty-five veterans from across the country spent the weekend in Jefferson with a program called Veterans No Boundaries. It provides outdoor recreation retreats for disabled veterans, free of charge, through Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation.

The veterans and their families participated in a variety of activities, including kayaking, biking, a rope course and ziplining.
