CORINTH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police are investigating injuries sustained by a 14-year-old boy that occurred just before midnight on Friday.

In a news release from Maine State Police, Lt. Wesley Hussey said state police, Penobscot County sheriff's deputies and EMS personnel were called to Route 15 Friday close to the Corinth/Charleston town line for the report of a person lying in the roadway possibly injured.

When police arrived on scene, they found a 14-year-old boy who was unconscious with head injuries.  He was stabilized on scene and was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.  He was still in the hospital as of Sunday afternoon.

On Tuesday, the mother of 14-year-old Christoper Killian spoke to the media asking for the public's help. Angie Ouellette also commented on the status of her son.

"Christopher has waking moments and is doing a lot better but a lot of sleeping. We're concerned about his head injury and it will take time to assess the extent," said Ouellette.

But she still wants answers.

"Maybe it was an accident or someone may not have noticed they hit him and that's okay. We just need to know what happened, please come forward," she urged.

Police are continuing the investigation and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Maine State Police Troop E at 866-2121 or 1-800-432-7381.
