The new year is a traditional time to make resolutions, and chances are you already have. And, maybe you've already broken a few. Here are a few apps that can keep you on your path to success.
Quit Smoking: One of the best things you can do for yourself is quit smoking, but as we all know it's difficult. There are several stop smoking apps out there, including Livestrong's MyQuit Coach.
* customizing your quitting plan (either cold turkey or incrementally)
* track your daily progress
* share your success/get support with the Livestrong community and share w/your FB or Twitter friends
* earn badges
* see your progress over time
* log your cravings
Lite version is free, $3.99 for full version. Not for Android, but there are plenty of Droid apps including the well reviewed Quit Smoking.
Lose Weight/Eat Healthy: Exercising alone won't help, you need to reduce your caloric intake. GoMeals makes it easy, plugging in calories for all your meals. You can also get calorie counts from many chain restaurants.
* Ability to track your meals
* Get calorie counts for full day
* Track protein, carbs and fat, too.
* Track your activity.
This app is free and is available on iOS and Droid.
Getting In Shape: There are plenty of running apps for your mobile device, but few offer a zombie storyline. With Zombies, Run! your jogging takes on an apocalyptical twist with a narrative that lets you know when the zombies are chasing you and when you need to sprint.
There are missions you can go on to move the story along and keep you interested in your run.
Getting Things Done: We all want to get more done, and do it better. Although LifeHacker.com is not actually an app, you can visit the website on your phone OR download the podcast.
Basically, everything you want to do, or do better, LifeHacker has you covered.
They even had a post recently on tips on keeping your NY resolutions!
