RANGELEY, Maine (AP) - Efforts to recover the bodies of three snowmobilers who are presumed dead after riding into western Maine's Rangeley Lake have been postponed for a second day because of unsafe weather conditions.

Maine Warden Service Cpl. John MacDonald said high winds and frigid temperature Wednesday make it unsafe for divers and boat operators, and can freeze up sonar equipment.

The men are believed to have gone into open water in the middle of Rangeley Lake on Sunday night, possibly around the same time that a 44-year-old Yarmouth woman was killed when she also drove her sled into the icy waters.

Officials say they can't recall any time when four people were killed in snowmobile accidents at the same time in the same place in Maine.

A vigil for the three men is being held Wednesday night at the Oxford Plaines Speedway around 7 o'clock.
