PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A group of USM students is getting ready to head over to London to take in the Summer Games, and also learn a little bit about sports management and marketing at the same time.

USM seniors Nate Cloutier and Curtis Coleman are taking the sports management elective along with twenty others as part of a London study abroad program.  While in London, Nate and Curtis say they will gain an inside perspective on the Olympic Games, while also learning about marketing and management strategies.  They will be hearing from guest speakers, touring the city, and attending several Olympic events as part of the program.

"It's an awesome opportunity.  I'm very excited for it, but I'm sure I will have more to talk about after the experience too to reflect back on it.  I don't really know what to expect going in to it.  I've never been to Europe, so it will be interesting," USM senior Nate Cloutier said.

"I had been working with Jo Williams, Assistant Professor, she had brought it up.  She's from England, and was very invested in the program since last year and made it happen, so I made sure to be one of the first people there to sign up," USM senior Curtis Coleman added.

They leave for London Saturday, and will be there for ten days over the course of the games.
