MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (WTMJ) -- The City of Milwaukee currently uses rock salt to help keep winter roads clear, but others have used everything from beets to sand.

This winter, Milwaukee's Department of Public Works hopes to start a program that could be called Cheesehead-friendly.

They're planning to use cheese brine as a de-icer.
