Polls: LePage holds lead, Cutler surges past Mitchell

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Independent Eliot Cutler has surged past Democrat Libby Mitchell in the latest Pan Atlantic SMS Omnibus Poll.

The poll, released Friday, shows Republican Paul LePage has increased his lead to 36.8 percent. That's up from 32.9 percent two weeks ago.

Cutler has jumped from 14 percent to 30.6 percent. Mitchell has dropped from 28 percent to 21.8 percent.

Independent Shawn Moody has dropped from 4.6 percent to 2.8 percent. Kevin Scott has gone from 0.4 percent two weeks ago to 1.1 percent.

7.3 percent of the respondents were undecided, down from 20.2 percent in the last poll.

It's the same story for a poll released by Public Policy Polling. LePage has a 12 point lead over Cutler, who has passed Mitchell.

Public Policy Polling surveyed 1,812 likely voters, Pan Atlantic SMS Group surveyed 400 likely voters.

The Margin of error is +/- 2.3 percent for Public Policy Polling and +/- 4.9 percent for Pan Atlantic SMS Group.
