(NBC NEWS) -- There are reports this morning that the Obama Administration has decided to send more firepower to Syria.
The White House says there's new evidence President Bashir al Assad used sarin gas against his own people, prompting the U.S. to act.
The administration's been criticized for waiting so long to act after President Obama drew what he called the "red line." the White House now says it's clear that line has been crossed.
"The President said that that would be a game changer and I think he's confirming that these weapons were used," said Rep. Eliot Engel, (D) New York.
"If we do not stop this war, the chemical weapons cache, that number in the hundreds of thousands of weapons, that could be used, could be deployed that could kill thousands of Americans," said Senator Lindsey Graham, (R) South Carolina.
There's no word yet on what type of weapons we may provide - or when.
