SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A new bakery in South Portland is building a devoted following with its signature hand pies.

The husband and wife team James Plunkett and Pamela Fitzpatrick run Little Bigs.  They say there are infinite possibilities when it comes to making their sweet and savory one-handed meals.

James is the chef and focuses on the crusty pockets of dough filled with traditional combinations of flavors while also experimenting with new ones.

Pamela is the baker and makes everything from nutella donuts stuffed with banana to maple-glazed donuts topped with crispy bacon.

A lot of countries like Jamaica and Finland have their own national hand pies. Now, it's a food phenomenon that seems to be catching on across Maine.

When they think they've made something extra outrageous, James and Pamela post a picture on their Facebook page.  They said that's helped bring in a lot of customers.
