Signed on Sept. 3, 1783, the treaty officially ended the Revolutionary War between the U.S. and Great Britain.

There was a fourth member of the U.S. delegation.  Henry Laurens was a planter and merchant from South Carolina.  He played a key role in negotiations, but was not present for the signing.
