PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - State Police say Interstate 295 in Portland has reopened following repairs to fallen utility lines.
The lines fell after an excavator struck a utility pole at a construction site near the highway about 1 a.m. on Friday. There have been no injuries.
The incident took place between the Congress Street and Forest Avenue exits. Traffic was stopped in both the north and south bound lanes for several hours. They were reopened shortly after 6 a.m.
