PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - 18 World War Two veterans will be flying to Washington, D.C. this Sunday.
It's the first ever Honor Flight out of Maine.
It's an opportunity to give veterans the chance to see the monuments in their honor.
Honor Flight New England provides the trip at no cost to veterans.
State Rep. Lisa Villa was instrumental in helping bring the flight to Maine, working as a flight attendant herself.
She's witnessed these flights firsthand and know how touching they can be.
She stopped by the MORNING REPORT to tell us more about it.
