PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Halloween is a night for kids to get dressed up in their favorite costume and go around trick-or-treating in their neighborhoods.

With all the princesses, goblins, and race car drivers walking around at night, Phil LaRou of the Portland Fire Department, has some tips to remind us how to keep our families safe tonight.

The Portland Firefighters Union Local 740 also has a safety campaign for trick or treating called Be Seen On Halloween.

The Portland Firefighters will be distributing over five thousand FREE glow bracelets to area children as a special safety measure to keep our children safe as they enjoy the holiday.

Bracelets will be available at city firehouses during the day of October 31st.

Firefighters will also be out in their districts between 5:30 and 7:30pm the evening of Halloween.
