AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Tuesday is the sixth annual Chamber of Commerce Business Day at the legislature.
"How do we collectively grow the economy? Maine is lucky to have the access we do to our legislators and it's up to us to take access to it," said Chamber of Commerce President Dana Connors.
Legislators and employers will meet to discuss how legislation affects employers. Employers will address different business issues and priorities. Connors said the big issues include mining, the budget, and Medicaid expansion.
"It's important for the business community to reach out...and we will talk about those ideas that are important to them," said Connors.
The businesses attending will be large and small, from all over Maine. The event starts around 8 a.m. and will end about noon.
