Pirates climb out of AHL cellar with in over Hartford

LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Two days after dropping to the bottom of the AHL standings, the Portland Pirates had their best result in a month with a 5-1 win over Hartford. 

Lucas Lessio and Brendan Shinnimin each had two goals for the Pirates.  Tobias Rieder had the other for Portland. 

Mark Visentin stopped 27 of 28 shots faced. 

The Pirates win moves them just out of the league's cellar with 52 points, one ahead of Adirondack. 

Portland (21-26-2-7) will host Albany at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Friday with a 7 p.m. first face-off.
