Two Bangor residents face drug charges after traffic stop

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Two Bangor residents are facing drug charges after they were pulled over in a vehicle that was being driven without its headlights on Sunday morning.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Maureen Clark, was arrested for Operating Under the Influence after the Bangor Police Department completed a field sobriety test. She was taken to the police department where it was determined that Clark was under the influence of drugs.

During a search conducted after Clark's arrest, officers found marijuana and other substances that tested as crack/cocaine and heroin. Officers also found crack and powdered cocaine in the vehicle.

Clark was transferred to the Penobscot County jail and was charged with Operating Under the Influence (drugs), two counts of unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs (Class C for heroin, Class D for crack/cocaine), and a civil offense for possession of marijuana.

The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Edwin Marrero, had an active warrant for his arrest and unpaid fines. He was also arrested. Marrero was charged with unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs (Class D crack/cocaine) after officers found substances in the car.
