A 2011 Honda Pilot being operated by Megan H. Ogden, 38, of Arundel, had been travelling west on Alewive Road in the vicinity of the Kennebunk Elementary School when it left the roadway, drove between two trees, struck a rock retaining wall, rolled over, and came to rest right-side-up. Ogden then left the crash scene travelling east on Alewive Road where she finally stopped her vehicle on Alfred Road in the vicinity of the Corning, Inc. business entrance. No second crash was determined to have occurred at the Alfred Road location. Following the initial crash and roll over, the Pilot sustained major damage with a shattered windshield, front and side airbag deployment, and several flat tires.
Ogden sustained a broken nose and outside visible cuts and lacerations. In the car with Ogden at the time of the crash were two children, ages seven and nine, who also sustained visible cuts and lacerations. All three individuals were transported by Rescue to Southern Maine Medical Center for evaluation with what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries. Both children had been properly secured in booster seats at the time of the crash.
At this time, the cause of the crash is still under investigation by police, and no criminal charges have been filed.
