South Portland, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - His name says it all: Proudman. The Southern Maine Community College guard's actions prove it.
The Bonny Eagle alum's road back to competitive basketball took a detour after the conclusion of his freshman year at S.M.C.C. in 2010. He told his parents and his coach he was enlisting in the U.S. Army.
After three years of service, including 12 months in Afghanistan, the 24-year old knew he wanted to get back on the court.
So, he reached out to his one-time coach Matt Richards last summer.
Proudman started this season coming off the bench playing limited minutes. In the past month he's become a regular starter and is averaging close to 10 points per game.
