WEST PARIS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police are telling parents to calm their fears over a misunderstanding in West Paris.
It began on Wednesday morning when a man knocked on a woman's door and told her he was there to take her sixth grade child to school. When the woman said no and shut the door, the man was seen going to another house.
The Oxford County Sheriff's office was called in to investigate. They determined the man was a legitimate taxi driver who was picking up a special needs student who needed a ride to school and simply went to the wrong house.
