GARDINER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The State Police's Computer Crimes Unit charged a Gardiner man this week with possessing child pornography on his computer.
Justin Nichols, 39, of 7 Union Street in South Gardiner was arrested at his home Monday and charged with one count of possessing sexually explicit material.
His computer was seized and will now be analyzed by the Computer Crimes unit.
Nichols, the father of four children, is now free on bail and one of his bail conditions is to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Nichols is scheduled to appear in an Augusta courtroom on Feb. 25. Police began investigating Nichols after receiving a tip he was sharing photos of children over the internet. None of the children are believed to be from Maine.
