Stockholm's Currier earns US Olympic spot

NEWS CENTER - Stockholm native Russell Currier became the first Mainer to qualify for the Winter Olympics on Sunday after being named to the US biathlon team. 

Currier clinched a spot after finshing as the top American in three of four qualifying events and second in the other one. 

He becomes the fifth product of the Maine Winter Sports Center to make the 2014 US Olympic team, but the first ever who's solely trained with the Caribou based developmental program since he started as a child in 1999.
