(NEWS CENTER) - The halfway point of the high school football regular season saw some interesting and matchups for records and rarity. 

In a clash of new Class 'A' East foes Portland (3-1) christened the re-opening of Cameron Stadium in Bangor with a win over the Rams (2-2).

Thornton Academy (3-1) held off Sanford (2-2) at home in 'A' West. 

Early turnovers plagued reigning Class 'B' champs Mount Blue (2-2) in a crossover game at York (2-2). 

Winthrop/Monmouth (4-0) survived a battle of unbeatens in Wales against Oak Hill (3-1).

The Greyhounds of Lisbon (3-1) ran past Old Orchard Beach (2-2).
