BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police in Bangor have charged a man with murder in connection with the death of a woman with whom he lived. David Coon, 50, is being held at the Penobscot County Jail. He is charged with killing 49-year-old Sherry Clifford.
Investigators say on Friday, police received a 911 call from Coon and Clifford's home on Jefferson Street, asking for an ambulance because a woman was having difficulty breathing. When crews arrived, police say Clifford was already dead.
An autopsy was conducted at the State Medical Examinger's Office on Saturday and the cause of Clifford's death was determined to be homicide.
An arrest warrant was issued for Coon and he was picked up Monday.
Coon is scheduled to be in court Tuesday afternoon.
