BREWER, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Prom season can be pretty expensive and many prom-goers are working with a budget. When Kassidy Giggey struggled to afford the prom, she decided to do something about it and make dresses available for everyone for no cost at all.

Kassidy Giggey with Giggey Girl Gowns said, "A lot of times prom is expensive and it does make it a worry. Being able to have free prom dresses takes away all of the worry that comes with prom."

For the past three years she has collected prom dresses and given nearly 200 away.

"When we first started out and we had 10 dresses on our rack and the fact that now we have over 350 options to choose from. It's amazing," said Giggey.

Giggey Girl Gowns does not, however, stop at dresses. Prom-goers can find shoes, accessories, and suits for the guys in their makeshift showroom located at Community of Christ Church in Brewer.

According to Giggey, every Sunday people come from nearby and away to browse the inventory in hopes of finding the perfect dress.

"The look on their face when they find their dream dress is just so amazing and the fact that it is free adds some more excitement," said Giggey.

Donations are always welcomed as well. Those interested in finding a dress of their own or dropping off their used prom dresses can do so every Sunday from 1-3pm at Community of Christ Church.

The church is located at 128 Pierce Road in Brewer. For more information you can visit the Giggey Girl Gowns Facebook page.
