HAMPDEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police are investigating a single car accident in Hampden that left one woman dead Saturday evening.
Hampden police said 28-year-old Sarah Eason was pronounced dead at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after being transported from the accident scene.
Police said Eason was a passenger in a car traveling east on Bog Road in Hampden Saturday just after 6 p.m. Police said the car crossed the center line, rolled over, and ended up on its roof. Eason was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver has been identified as 33-year-old Sarah Courtney. Police said she was treated and released from Eastern Maine Medical Center, and did not suffer any injuries.
Authorities said Courtney was wearing her seat belt, but Eason was not.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Hampden Police Department and Maine State Police reconstruction team.
