ROCHESTER, Minnesota (KTTC) -- After being cooped up all winter it could be nice to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. However, for Darlene Thompson nature is knocking the back door of her Rochester, Minnesota home.
On any given day there are squirrels, nuthatches, chickadees and cardinals in Thompson's backyard.
But what has been frequenting her lawn lately are wild turkeys.
Emerging from the woods one by one, on any given day, the flock of bird will pay the Thompson residence a visit. So often in fact, they're on a first name basis.
"Hen-rietta," said Thompson. "Queen Tia. Because she gets the food she wants and the others move out of her way. And the Tia stands for turkey in authority."
