SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Many people headed to Southwest Harbor on Tuesday trying to lay their claims to one valuable housing development there.

The Village at Oceans End went up for auction late Tuesday morning. The 47-acre condominium and development project has about 37 luxury home sites.

Starting at 11 a.m.  people were able to place their bids for the entire complex. They were able to do that in person and online. Officials with the company auctioning off the property said they were getting interested calls from people around the country but buying it was sure to come at a high price tag.

Southwest Harbor values the project at about $2 million. Just to take part in the auction on Tuesday all bidders had to make a deposit of $100,000.
