BRUNSWICK (NEWS CENTER) - Two first period goals and Max Fenkell's 23 saves were enough for the Bowdoin men's hockey team to win the 2013 New England Small College Athletic Conference championship over Williams, 2-1.

The Polar Bears  (22-3-2) clinched the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.  It will be their third appearance in the last four years.

They'll host UMASS-Dartmouth at Sid J. Watson Arena, Wednesday night at 7 pm.

The Bowdoin women also won their NESCAC tournament final, 2-1 at top-seeded Middlebury.

The Polar Bears (21-4-2) will also host an NCAA game as they'll play Elmira College in the quarterfinals at 7 pm on Saturday.
