GEORGETOWN, Mass. (NEWS CENTER) - The University of Maine women's basketball team has been involved in a bus accident on its way to a game in Boston, but school officials say no players have been seriously injured.

Basketball player Milica Mitrovic sustained a broken hand and Head coach Richard Barron also was treated for minor facial lacerations.

Massachusetts State Police say the driver of the bus was the only person seriously hurt. He has been air lifted to a Boston hospital.

The bus was headed south on Interstate 95 when it crossed both the median and northbound lanes near Georgetown. Police say the bus went off the highway into the woods. No other vehicles were involved, although a State Police cruiser that stopped at the scene was struck from behind. The trooper was not seriously injured.

The bus was driving 22 team members from the UMaine basketball team. A few members of the team were treated for minor injuries...the rest were taken to hospitals for observation.

UMaine athletic director Steve Abbott says the players will spend the night at a hotel, and that tomorrow's game against Boston University has been cancelled.
