AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine's Independent Senator Angus King was on NBC's Meet the Press Sunday morning as part of a round table discussion.

He was sworn in last week as Maine's newest senator, replacing Olympia Snowe.

King appeared with Newt Gingrich, Democratic Representative Xavier Becerra of California, Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne, and former business executive, Carly Fiorina.

King says the federal government still has a lot of hard work ahead to get its fiscal house in order, adding that the President should call a group together to start negotiating the best way to cut spending and raise revenues.

He said Sunday morning that President Obama should call the group to Camp David, lock the door, and say, "let's get it done."
