Bangor stabbing victim identified

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Bangor police, and the Maine State Medical Office, have released the name of a man stabbed on Elm street on December 29, 2012.

Police say the victim was 34-year-old Jeffrey Leblanc. The medical examiner's office says that he died of a stab wound to the abdomen. Police say the case is a homicide.

Bangor officers say they responded to a report of a stabbing at 80 Elm Street at about 2:33 AM on December 29, 2012. They say when they arrived, the victim was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center's Emergency room and died later in the morning.

Bangor police say the Maine State Attorney General's Office is investigating the case with the Criminal Investigations Division.
